Anunciamos, con mucha alegría, la reciente publicación del libro "The Creation, Diffusion, and Reception of Italian Art in the Early Modern Iberian World", editado por los miembros del proyecto Benito Navarrete (IP) y Corinna Gallori, en la editorial Routledge. Además, también participan Escardiel González, Elena Escuredo y Roberto Alonso, integrantes de CIRIMA.
Este volumen editado aborda la circulación de obras de arte, imágenes e ideas entre el mundo ibérico e italiano y las consiguientes respuestas que este movimiento generó.
Entre los temas tratados se encuentran los conceptos de centro y periferia, réplicas y alteraciones, y cómo se reinterpretaron objetos e ideas. Los procesos de apropiación y transformación crean una geografía artística de las identidades en la que la originalidad puede estudiarse a través de los procesos de asimilación de imágenes compartidas entre Europa, Asia y América. Los capítulos desafían la conceptualización negativa de la «copia» argumentando que la «copia» no es simplemente una derivación, sino una nueva creación que está moldeada por los intereses y preferencias del receptor. Asimismo, los autores abogan por un concepto más matizado de lo que es exactamente un centro artístico.
El libro será de interés para estudiosos de la historia del arte, el Renacimiento y los estudios ibéricos.
